Landing page

A landing page is the most relevant page for an online business since it determines your conversion rate. The best landing pages convert at 11.45% or higher.

In definition, a landing page is a page, which prospects land on after clicking a link on your Facebook Ad or Email.

There are two main goals in building a landing page:

  1. Making sales.
  2. Increasing an E-mail prospects list.

If a landing page is good enough, and your prospects are solution-aware, the sales rates increase. However, a poorly written landing page does not receive many conversions as expected. I have experienced this.

The designs and copy on a landing page should be written based on the message on an Ad. Otherwise, there will be fewer conversion rates. The landing pages and Ads leading to the landing pages go hand in hand. Don’t send your customers to your homepage from a Facebook Ad, they are in to get more information.

How to design a landing page.

A landing page should consist of:

  1. A header.
  2. A lead or promise.
  3. Benefits of the service or product.
  4. Features of the products
  5. Call to action.
  6. Credit.

For a landing page to convert, all the above must be arranged in a systematic order.

Why?

Others will tell you that it is a psychological trick, but allow me to take a second and explain.

You see, when you meet a person by the street, you have to grab their attention (in this case we used a Facebook Ad to grab their attention.) After you capture their attention, they will come closer to learn more about the product or service. The questions they are likely to ask are:

  • What is the product?
  • What does it do?
  • How does it solve my problem?
  • How much is it?
  • And where is the best place to purchase the product?

The questions come in this order. I guess that is how our brains process things, that is why they call it psychology.

This is the same format that you are supposed to use while writing your landing page copy. It should answer all these questions in the order which they come in. The header is the product name or feature; the lead or promise is what it does; the elements are how it solves the problem; the call to action should be accompanied by the price; the credit is you.
